Penhold
The penhold grip is similar to the position used to hold a pen. The thumb and index finger are placed on the front side of the racket while the rest of the fingers are on the backside. The penhold grip is common in Chinese players while they seem to be the best ones at using it.

AdvantagesEdit

  • Powerful forehand serves
  • Good forehand strokes
  • Easy to block the ball

DisadvantagesEdit

  • Inconsistent backhand topspin
  • Fast footwork is needed
  • Lot of stamina is needed

Although the backhand weakness is present, this playing style has not stopped many Asian players from winning important championships like the Olympic games.
